Now that you’ve mastered the art of making your own bread… why not give these sticky buns a go? They are absolutely divine and very easy to make. As with all homemade breads, they are a bit time consuming but well worth the effort.
To start, use one batch of homemade white bread dough. Follow my recipe and add 2 eggs along with the water during the initial mixing of the dough.
Directions:
Yield: 2 dozen
- Make bread dough following the directions and procedures in my homemade white bread dough video, adding 2 eggs with the water in the beginning.
- After the dough has finished its first rising; punch down and divide into two equal portions.
- Roll out each portion into a 9” x 12” rectangle. Brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture (You may add nuts or raisins if desired).
- Roll up tightly like a jelly roll and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place on parchment lined baking sheets which have been spread with the sticky bun topping.
- Cover and let rise until double, approx. 45-60 minutes.
- Bake in preheated 375°F oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from oven and invert onto cooling racks immediately.
- Allow to cool for about 10-15 minutes and then drizzle with icing sugar glaze if desired.
Candra’s Notes
You can use half of the dough to make dinner rolls if you like, depending on the number of sticky buns you require. If you choose to do this, make sure you cut your filling, sticky bun topping and glaze amounts in half.

Hello Candra!
I made these delicious sticky buns as a surprise treat for my family today. This is possibly the first time I’ve tried a challenging recipe and it actually turned out as good as the pictures :). I’ve always had a hard time with making successful dough, but your helpful tips and video solved a lot of my mistakes and were a wonderful guide in making this treat. I have 10 children and bread doesn’t last long in our home…so I plan to try more of your bread recipes. I believe your website will become another “staple” for our kitchen!!!!!
Take care and be blessed!
