Wondering what to do with your stale bread? Why not make your own croutons? They are quick, easy and extremely tasty! Season them to suit your own taste and use them on salads, soups or just for a tasty snack.
Directions:
Yield: 1/2 cup
- Cut your stale bread into cubes. Be sure to use stale bread because fresh bread doesn’t work very well.
- Dump the bread cubes into the bowl of melted butter and mix. Ensure that the cubes are lightly coated with the butter.
- Add the garlic, parsley, salt and pepper or whichever combination of spices you prefer. Mix.
- Place the cubes on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Bake for approximately 15 minutes. Keep an eye on your croutons as they can burn easily.
- After about 6 minutes flip the croutons to ensure they cook evenly. Let them continue to cook until they reach a nice golden brown color.
ENJOY!!!
