With this post, we are going to take a break from the normal recipes. This is a fun and easy way to decorate your cup cakes and make them look beautiful. Get the kids involved … they will love this. Before getting started, you will need some cupcakes (recipe here) and butter cream frosting (regular butter cream recipe or mocha butter cream recipe).

Directions:

Yield: 24 cupcakes

  1. Fill a piping bag with butter cream frosting with a star tip. Twist the top of the bag to close it. This will prevent any frosting from coming out the top of the bag.
  2. Starting at the outside bottom edge of the cupcake, apply gentle pressure to the piping bag allowing the frosting to flow freely.
  3. Pipe frosting around the outside edge of the cupcake until you reach your starting point. Continue piping, but move towards the center. Continue piping until you reach the center.
  4. It’s that simple! Now you can add sprinkles, shredded chocolate, toasted coconut or anything you like. Watch the video below to see the instructions in action. Enjoy!
